15th Annual Boston International Fine Art Show

Fresh Food and Wine Festival - Taste of Quebec this Wednesday!

The French American Chamber of Commerce is putting a twist on their Taste of France series and  hosting a Quebec focused event this Wednesday at the Westin Boston Waterfront.  There will be a dozen of Boston's finest restaurants offering samples of Quebec style food, complimentary wine tastings, silent auction, and gypsy jazz (never heard of this style of jazz?).  There will be also great networking potential as this event is focused on young professionals and over 400 people are expected to extend.

Tickets are a little pricey ($85 a pop), but if you are a student or young professional (35 and younger) tickets are reduced over 50% to $40!! Great deal for lots of food and wine!

Don't forget it's DayLight Savings tonight!

Remember to put your clocks back tonight at 2:00am - also ask your bartenders if that means that their bars stay open for an additional hour since some bars actually do this.  Talk about really gaining an hour!

New Hibachi Restaurant in Coolidge Corner

Last night I went to dinner with some friends at Osaka, a great hibachi restaurant that opened up a few weeks ago, and let me tell you - what a great experience.  I definitely don't recommend coming here if you plan on having a quiet dinner or for a first date (walk a block down and go to Regal Beagle) because this place is loud but so much fun nonetheless.  There's also a non-hibachi side, so if you not feeling the heat you can pick that side for sushi or what have you.  I think what made this hibachi much more special than other ones I've been to is that throughout their "show" the chefs give you free sake out of a squeeze bottle.  Yup, you read that right, FREE SAKE!! I mean that's reason enough to go to me.  So that's the main reasons why it's so loud since people are chanting when the sake is given out - think of keg stand style chanting.  Beer is also pretty cheap ($8 for a large 22oz Japanese beer), but the food is a little pricey ($20-$25 for a meal) but very yummy.  Waiters are really attentive and they were always coming over to see if we needed anything, water, etc.  We didn't make reservations but were seated right away even though it was still packed, so I would make reservations just in case.  Overall, it's a great experience especially for a group of friends and like the chants going on throughout the night, I recommend you "go,go,go".

If you're looking to have a crazy night downtown, a girl and not looking to pay a cover - check out McFadden's Ladies Night.  No cover for girls as well as spa packages giveaways and $3 Champagne Cocktails.  McFadden's is a pretty narrow bar, so prepared for a packed area but it's always fun nonetheless.  I also recommend not going to the basement area (but I don't recommend going downstairs at any bar).

5th Annual Harpoon Helps Grateful Harvest Beer-B-Q
